We were a little sad to pull away from Junction having spent more of the morning with Mr. Walt and his stories but we knew it was time to move on. He had suggested that we could make it as far as Van Horn so I called an RV park and made a reservation for their last spot. Dave did a super job driving and pulling the hills in this part of West Texas. We even saw a few blue bonnets but it got drier and drier as the further west we drove. The wind was a bit blustery but not a major issue. We made good time considering stopping over in Fort Stockton for gas and Walmart for a few groceries. Pulling into Van Horn I knew we were not going to find another ‘Junction’ experience. The RV park was great on paper (description online) but was nothing but dirt and a few struggling trees. It was full however and we were glad to have the last spot. Dave met the ‘neighbors’ who were from the Sacramento area going to Florida. I was thankful we could have Gabe outside during the in between times, in between pit bulls and other barky dogs going to the dog run area. A couple of dogs nearly got into it but we were safe inside. Van Horn reminds me there are always in between times; times when things are not so nice, not so convenient and certainly not pretty but functional. These times make the Junctions even sweeter and the anticipation of the next stop and what it will hold stronger. We are on a journey and we know as Paul said how to make do (be abased) and how to abound (have the extras) and we are content that we are following the Spirit’s guiding. We are blessed with Abba’s care and protection and knowing we are loved and on a mission to tell others of that great love. Here’s to the next grace point may we see a miracle unfold as we press on.
